Dear Friends and Patients,
It is with mixed emotions that I am announcing my retirement from Kirkwood Animal Hospital. It has been a great honor providing for your pet’s health care needs over the years.
As of January 31, 2018 Dr. Sarah Hormuth, Dr. Kathleen Hemler, Dr. Sarah Kolaz, Dr. Abby Whiting, Dr. Caitlin Acree and Dr. Carmen Riguero will be taking over the care of my patients. This group of veterinarians is well trained thanks to the University of Missouri, Kansas State University and Purdue University. I am glad to be leaving my patients in their very capable hands.
Your pet’s medical records are confidential. If you are planning to continue with this office there is nothing for you to do, call and make an appointment with one of our doctors.
The friendships I have made through Kirkwood Animal Hospital will live with me forever. Thank you to all of the wonderful people who trust us with the care of their pets. Thanks to our incredible staff, they have made my years at KAH enjoyable, when caring for pets can be very stressful. Thanks to Dr. Fred Bendick for being a great friend, mentor and business partner.
Thirty years ago, a friend stated, “I try to live each day so that my children will want to become veterinarians.” That statement had a big impact on me. From that day on I tried to act accordingly. Perhaps my most memorable day at Kirkwood Animal Hospital was the day my daughter, Dr. Caitlin Acree, joined our staff. I am so proud of her accomplishments.
I have greatly valued our relationships and thank you for your loyalty and friendship over the years. Best wishes for your health and your pet’s health.
Jim Schuessler D.V.M., A.B.V.P.
