All Surgical Procedures Should Include the Following

Before Anesthetic

q       Physical Exam

 q       Blood test

o       Check kidney function

o       Red and white blood cell count - check for infection and anemia

o       Hemoglobin level & Packed Cell Volume - Check for anemia

q       EKG - check heart function.

 q       Tranquilization and Pain Control used – to remove your pets anxiety and aids in a smooth induction and recovery.

   q       IV Catheter & Fluids – to maintain hydration, good kidney function and have an intravenous line for emergency drugs if needed.

q       Human and Computerized monitoring of all vital functions
